Getaway Meets Torqueedo

Torqueedo and Getaway come together.
Customer just bought a new Getaway and needed some help getting the boat back in from off the lake. Jays story: "When we originally delivered the boat, the owner didn’t think he would need a motor since he lived right on the water and would have the boat on a lift. After the first sail in some good breeze he realized that the approach to his dock was almost straight downwind and coming in under sail was going to be tricky at best.
We talked about different motor options and after deciding that he didn’t want to deal with storing a gas outboard down by the boat and the concern if he flipped the motor would get flooded, we decided on an electric outboard by Torqeedo. The Torqeedo is lightweight, disassembles in seconds to fit into a small storage bag, quiet and powerful. The Torqeedo can also take a dunk if the boat capsizes although don’t make a habit of sending it for a swim. We installed the Cheata motor mount and clamped on the fully charged Torqeedo 801L. The results are nothing short of amazing with the power of the motor, speed we got the boat moving and certainly how quiet it is. At full throttle, we could talk quietly to each other and still hear each other just fine with nothing more than a quiet hum of the motor. There was more noise from the boat moving through the water than the motor."
